THE PROBLEM
Living with roommates presents numerous difficulties, which can result in tension, increased stress levels, and damaged relationships.
Communication, finances, allocating tasks and chores, inviting guests over — just a handful of things that roommates must handle amongst themselves. Unfortunately, this is easier said than done, and during research I discovered that 86% of users were unhappy with their living situations.
OUTCOME
Roomies is an app available on mobile devices and apple watches. It is broken down into a few core abilities:
( 1 ) Easily assign chores and tasks without sending that awkward text. Roomies will even allocate the chores on your behalf.
( 2 ) Receive reminders to complete your chores — no need to nag your roommates anymore.
( 3 ) Rent and finances — request, split, and share finances.
( 4 ) Add guests and other time-sensitive events, such as quiet hours, to a shared calendar.
( 5 ) Communication all within the app — comment on chores, finances and more.
